Data protection - an important concern for you and for MED TRUST

The protection of your personal data in connection with the collection, processing and use during your visit to our website is important to us. Your data will be protected in accordance with legal regulations. Below you will find information about which data is collected during your visit to the website and how it is used:

1. Collection and processing of data
1.1 Each visit to our website and every retrieval of a file stored on the site is logged. Our provider (or the data center where the website is hosted) collects the information provided by your Internet provider: in particular the name of the website, date/time of access, volume of data transferred, the IP address assigned to you, the HTTP status code, information about the browser and operating system you use, and in some cases the so-called "referrer" (the source page from which you came to the current website or file). An evaluation is carried out – if this is done automatically by the web host – solely for statistical purposes, whereby the individual user remains anonymous.  The collection of this data is also necessary in order to be able to trace (possible) misuse and therefore serves as legal protection.

Matomo

We use Matomo Analytics from Innocraft Ltd. to statistically evaluate and analyze the performance and usage behavior of people on our website. “Matomo” was chosen as a better and more secure alternative to Google Analytics. This means that any data collected by Matomo that needs to be stored remains in Europe.

Matomo is an open source tool for analyzing the behavior of our website visitors in order to continuously improve the user-friendliness of our websites.
EU representation of Innocraft Ltd: ePrivacy Holding GmbH represented by Prof. Dr. Christoph Bauer
Burchardstraße 14, 20095 Hamburg, Germany

The data is collected and evaluated anonymously for statistical purposes using Matomo Analytics. The user’s IP address is automatically shortened, so it is no longer possible to identify individual people. Anonymization is achieved by masking 2 bytes of the visitor's IP, which means that the data collected can no longer be clearly attributed to a specific IP address.

Matomo Analytics uses so-called “cookies”, text files that are stored on your computer and that enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website will be transferred to a Matomo Analytics server in the EU and stored there (data traffic from the EU remains in the EU). See Matomo's privacy policy here: https://matomo.org/matomo-cloud-privacy-policy/.

You may prevent the installation of cookies by configuring your browser software accordingly; however, we would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to use all functions of this website to their full extent. By using this website, you agree to the processing of the data concerning your person that is collected by Matomo Analytics in the manner and for the purposes described above

You can prevent Matomo Analytics from collecting data generated by cookies and relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) and from processing this data by Matomo Analytics by selecting the opt-out option here:

1.2. Further personal data is collected when you
• register as a user on a MED TRUST website,
• send contact requests via the form on a MED TRUST website,
• use the wish list or shopping cart on a MED TRUST website or
• place orders via a MED TRUST web shop
• subscribe to a MED TRUST newsletter.

This data is stored by MED TRUST and transmitted only to enable MED TRUST to fulfil the contract or because you have consented to the processing and transmission of your personal data by MED TRUST. Failure to provide personal data would mean that the extended functionality of the MED TRUST website, which is described below, cannot be provided at all or only to a limited extent.

3. Google custom search
This website uses the “Google Custom Search” component of Google Inc. (“Google”), 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043 USA as the central search service. The integrated search service enables a full-text search for content on our website. This search function can be accessed via a search box integrated into the header of each web page. By entering a search term in the search box and pressing the enter key or the search icon (magnifying glass symbol), you activate the search function and the search results page is called up, which reloads the corresponding search results from Google using a plug-in provided by Google. The use of the search function provided by Google involves a dynamic transfer of data by Google to the search results page.  In principle, no data is transferred to Google when you visit the pages of our website in which Google Custom Search is integrated. Data is only transferred to Google after you have activated the search box, started a full-text search and accessed the search results page. By using the search function within the search results page, data of the respective users is simultaneously transferred to Google. By using the full-text search and the associated access to the search results page, you agree to the use of the Google search service and thus also to the transfer of data to the Google service. Your IP address is always required to display the content, because without the IP address Google could not send the content to your browser. If you are logged in to Google at the same time, Google is able to assign the information directly to your user profile. You should log out to avoid collection of profile information about you. Further data protection information about Google can be found at https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en

4. Google maps
MED TRUST uses the embed function: This means that the interactive map of our company location is placed on the website with a simple HTTP request.  The embed function allows the map to be accessed directly in an interactive manner on our website.
